- Green Up Day, May 1, 2004 - A group of MRNA
folks participated in Green Up Day this May. We filled 2 pickup trucks,
a few station wagons and some cars with trash collected
in the Village, Jones Brook and Stevens Brook areas of Moretown. We
collected
over 30 bags
of
trash, discarded tires and scrap metal. We even found a
Montpelier parking meter with its cash box removed! An intact jar of
pickled carrots
was found and saved as the most unique find. Just who would want
to throw away pickled carrots?!! After drop off to the dump, we enjoyed
a delicious potluck cookout.
Special THANKS go out to Mike
Dimotsis for coordinating our efforts and to Pat Cox and Scott Sainsbury
for opening their home for our pre-collection gathering and post-collection
celebration.
